Rockaway Civic Association Presents ‘Beach Flix’ w/ Queens World Film Festival Night – August 17, 2013

The Rockaway Civic Association launched its second year of their summer film series Beach Flix on Beach 126th Street with over 100 movie goers spending an evening under the stars enjoying the family classic movie ‘The Goonies‘.

In 2012 Rockaway Civic launched Beach Flix ‐ a free series of movies shown on the beach for all community members & visitors alike to enjoy. The film series was an instant and wonderful success with each showing averaging 100+ attendees.

After some uncertainty, due to loss of some of the equipment to Superstorm Sandy, board members agreed that the return of Rockaway Civic Beach Flix had to happen.  The 2013 season of Beach Flix will be expanded from last year with be movies shown weekly instead of every other week and certain films will include trivia night or other film inspired events before the movie.
